Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

Many couples will often choose to wed at a special location that holds major significance to them. That could be a place where they first met, had their first date, or where the question was popped. And for one couple, they chose to get married at the place where their love story first began: the drive-thru of a Dunkin’ Donuts.

Sugar Good was working as the general manager of a Dunkin’ Donuts in Edmond, Oklahoma back in 2015 when she first met her now-husband, John Thompson. As the 49-year-old Good explained to News9, 45-year-old Thompson would stop by the drive-thru each morning to order his “large hot coffee with cream and sugar and a sausage egg and cheese croissant” at the location where she worked. That is how they came to share little bits of conversation every single day through the drive-thru. Good eventually decided to slip him her business card which had her cell phone number on it. Not long after, they went out on their first date – and it was the beginning of forever from there.

The couple continued to date up until Thompson prosed to Good right in the parking lot of the same Dunkin’ location. Given how special the location was to facilitating their relationship, the couple chose to get married on the 13th of October, right at the drive-thru where they met. Naturally, their wedding carried a donut theme to it, and there was a dessert table that had the couple’s favorite glazed and maple-glazed donuts. Other donut themes sprinkled throughout the ceremony included a donut bouquet, donut cake, Dunkin’ balloons, and custom photos. The couple’s ceremony even took place during the morning rush, and customers came to learn about the ceremony through a special banner that shared the couple’s story.

As Good shared on Dunkin’s blog, she is extremely grateful for everything that she’s achieved through Dunkin’ like her job, her friendships, and even her relationship. She stated that when it came to planning the ceremony, both she and Thompson knew that there was “no better place” for the “I do’s” than the exact spot where they were brought together. Good said, “This Dunkin’ drive-thru has brought me one of my biggest blessings, and we’re so glad we were able to celebrate such a special occasion here with our Dunkin’ family!”

And as it turned out, their Dunkin’ ceremony wasn’t the only one that they celebrated. Not long after, the couple also made the trip to Eureka, Arkansas, and had another small gathering for family where they exchanged vows on Good’s birthday. We wish this couple a lifetime of happiness!
