How cool is this cloud bread? It’s light, fluffy, sweet, and only takes 5 ingredients. That’s right, with just a few things you probably already have on hand, you can have this cloud bread in under 30 minutes.
Cloud bread became a viral sensation on social media due to its unique texture, bright color, and simplicity. It’s almost like a mini angel food cake, only somehow lighter. Now, I’m not one to jump all over the latest and greatest trend, but I had to try this one out. I truly didn’t believe it would work, but I was happy to be proven wrong!
See how it all comes together in the video below:
Incredible, right? It seems impossible that just a few egg whites, cornstarch, and powdered sugar can make bread. The vanilla and food coloring are optional, but I think you’ll agree it makes this little treat all the more magical. If you’re looking for a fun, easy snack, this is definitely the recipe for you!
To get started, preheat the oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside. Next, pour egg whites into a large mixing bowl. Add vanilla and a couple of drops of food coloring if using.
Whisk egg whites with a stand mixer or hand-held mixer on medium speed. When egg whites are frothy, gradually add sugar and cornstarch. Continue to whisk on high until stiff peaks form. Carefully scoop out whipped egg whites onto the parchment paper and shape into whatever shape you want.
All that’s left to do is bake it in the oven for 20 minutes! Serve up with your favorite spread and enjoy!
