I feel like each week I read about another 100+-year-old person who tells me that the secret to living a long life is drinking, avoiding men, or eating candy. I ‘ve always thought it would be something like drinking water or eating kale.

Meet Dorothy Flowers, a woman in the UK who just turned 108. Her secrets? Drinking champagne and eating chocolate.

A 108-year-old woman from the UK named Dorothy Flowers went viral when the Bupa UK Southlands Care Home posted on Facebook asking if people could send her 108 birthday cards. In total, she ended up getting over 670 cards and was asked what the secret to her longevity.

Bupa UK Southlands resident manager, Helene Ballinger, spoke for Dorothy during interviews and said that her secret is drinking champagne and eating chocolate, according to Yahoo Style UK.

“Her real secret for longevity though has to be champagne,” she told them. “It’s the only thing we ever see her finish a glass of.”

She also loves hanging out by the reception desk and even has a drawer full of chocolate to snack on.
