Romaine lettuce was recalled last month and it would appear that recall has expanded to other products. Adam Bros. Farming, Inc., linked to last month’s recall, has pulled cauliflower, red leaf lettuce, and green leaf lettuce from store shelves out of what they have described as “an abundance of caution.”

In a press release from the company, the cauliflower in question was harvested between November 27th and November 30th. While no cauliflower has tested positive for E.coli at this time, the company has decided on a voluntary recall. Adam Bros. Farming discovered sediment in a reservoir where the produce is grown that tested positive for E. coli. Customers are asked to both throw away any of these products and to also notify the place of purchase. This will help those working on the recall better understand the process chain that will help identify a potential source of the contamination.

Again, no illnesses have been reported but the cauliflower, green leaf lettuce, and red leaf lettuce in question were distributed to several states. Cauliflower was distributed in Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Green and red leaf lettuce were sold in California, Colorado, Minnesota (red leaf lettuce only), Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Canada. Red leaf lettuce was also distributed in Tijuana, Mexico.

Adam Bros. Farming has shared the affected tag numbers to help consumers identify the potentially contaminated products. Carton Tag Numbers are listed below. Check the company’s press release for Pallet Tag Numbers, as the list is quite extensive.

E.coli is a bacteria that can cause significant health issues when ingested. Intestinal issues and in extreme cases kidney failure may occur. The onset of symptoms can occur within hours or days, so if you do find yourself sick, it is important to document what you’ve eaten and to share it with your healthcare provider.
