This might be the most awkward public proposal that we have seen in some time. The TikTok video that you are about to see was filmed on New Year’s Eve and we are willing to bet that this man wishes that it had been left in 2022. The man decides to propose to the woman in front of a big crowd of strangers, which is all well and good.
However, she is clearly not feeling it. It is easy to tell that this did not go how he had hoped. The clip was taken by someone who happened to be present at the time and they have shared it with the rest of the world.
In the video, the woman is seen partying in Hawaii at a rooftop venue. From there, the man takes it upon himself to get on the microphone.
“Omg they stopped the entire NYE party for this guy to propose and the girl was NOT HAVING IT,” Case wrote in the text overlay. The clip has been over 4 million times, so this man’s embarrassment has been spread far and wide. “WAIT UNTIL THE END,” Cass adds. “That was the most awkward thing I’ve ever witnessed.”
Thanks to her expert camera work, we now get to enjoy the moment ourselves. It is like something out of a horror movie. We were watching it through our fingers at certain points. The man calls her up to the stage and the look on her face says it all. She did not want to put on the spot and we can see why she might feel that way.
“I want to say, I’m crazy in love with you,” he says, as she makes her way over to him in a tentative manner.
The worst part of all is that he is clearly not paying attention to how awful she feels about this unwanted attention. “You’re the love of my life, and will you make me the happiest man in the world,” he says. W”ill you marry me?”
She is silent for a bit. “It’s a simple yes or no,” he prods. “Oh my gosh,” the woman replies, still looking uncomfortable. “Yes?” she replies. This is not exactly the response that he wanted. After they get off stage, she appears to be annoyed and she definitely did not want the proposal to go down like this.
