The Sheriff’s Department is hoping that someone who watched Tiger King may be able to provide information that could lead to solving the 23-year-old mystery.
There have been many shows over the years that have led to questions being asked about cold case files. If you have watched the crime series on Netflix, Tiger King, you probably are wondering what happened to Carol Baskin’s missing husband, Don Lewis. There are some theories out there by Joe Exotic, but are they true or fiction? It seems as if police are now curious enough to want to find out and are hoping they can crack the case.
It really only took appearing on Netflix for the entire world to be interested in the case. Now that the investigation has been reopened by the Florida Sheriff’s Department, the summer of 1997 disappearance of Lewis is under close scrutiny. The Sheriff’s Department is hoping that someone who watched Tiger King may be able to provide information that could lead to solving the 23-year-old mystery. A public plea was made by the Sheriff looking for information with a Twitter post.
Lewis, who disappeared in August 1997 would be 81 years old this year. He was married to Baskin when he disappeared, although there were rumors that the relationship was not doing well. Allegations were investigated by the Netflix series that Lewis had a restraining order against his wife prior to disappearing. Joe Exotic has also brought forth video blogs alleging that Lewis was murdered by his wife and she buried him under a septic tank on their 40-acre big cat sanctuary. She may have even have fed his body to the cats! If anyone has watched the series, they know that it could be just that strange.
Since @netflix and #Covid19 #Quarantine has made #TigerKing all the rage, I figured it was a good time to ask for new leads. #CaroleBaskin #DonLewis #Netflix #Tiger #BigCatRescue #JoeExotic #TigerKingNetflix #HCSO pic.twitter.com/LHoJcBZVOI

“Don was not easy to live with and like most couples, we had our moments. But I never threatened him and I certainly had nothing to do with his disappearance,” she wrote. “When he disappeared, I did everything I could to assist the police. I encouraged them to check out the rumors from Costa Rica, and separately I hired a private investigator.”
Whether they solve the case or not, it may just provide new material for Kate McKinnon, who is in the limited series based on Tiger King. She has been playing Baskin, so you know that it is a series worthy of your attention.
Who knows, with the popularity of Tiger King, there may actually be someone who comes forward with enough information to crack the case. You never know what can happen, so it will be interesting to follow this space.SKM: below-content placeholder
