The idea of a soup that requires you to sign a waiver may seem ludicrous but the good folks at Campbell’s are not playing around on this one.

Spicy food fans should definitely read on, though. Those of us who know that we cannot handle this soup are welcome to keep reading because this is sure to get funny. Any time that a foodstuff requires a signed waiver, we are intrigued regardless.

The Chunky Ghost Pepper Chicken Noodle Soup is new and it will only be available for a limited time. According to a press release, on January 27, it will be on hand for anyone who thinks that they are going to be able to handle the heat.

Before we proceed, we must let you know that the waiver is not actually a legally binding document and is actually a joke. That does not mean that you can’t have a little bit of fun with the process anyway.

According to the press release, the Scoville heat unit scale, which is used to measure the level of spiciness in each pepper, revealed the Chunky Ghost Pepper Chicken Noodle Soup ranks much higher than you would expect. It is a whopping 13 times spicier than the Chunky Spicy Chicken Noodle Soup.

Even though it is very, very spicy, Campbell’s claims that the soup retains the “true savory flavor of chicken and vegetables.” The company claims that they have gotten a wonderful response to the spicy soups that are currently available and now they are looking to kick things up a notch.

“We’ve seen a tremendous response to our Chunky spicy lineup and fans keep asking for more,” says Campbell’s Chunky brand manager Kristina Moses, according to the press release. She added, “As our spiciest soup to date from Chunky, Ghost Pepper Chicken Noodle answers the call for more heat and we’re excited to see how many brave consumers are willing to sign the ‘waiver’ for the chance to try,” she continued.

In case you are wondering, the soup does come with a cool-off kit. Campbell’s has seen fit to offer a cooling towel, fan, sweatband, and tissues. If you would like to get your hands on the soup and the cool off kit, you will need to make sure that you are one of the first 500 to sign the aforementioned waiver once it has been put up.
