Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro had a terrible accident last fall, resulting in a serious injury to his right hand. Thankfully, the medical personnel that were assigned to him have done an incredible job. As a thank you, he created the staff that treated him a cake.
“Check out the super special cake I made for Dr. Michelle Carlson, the nurses and staff at @hspecialsurgery as a token of my immense appreciation! It replicates the main hospital there in #NYC. I could never thank them enough for all they have done to help me on this journey to a full recovery,” he said. He also added some hashtags to praise the heroes who helped him mend.
The hospital also posted a picture of the cake that he made, with a note of appreciation for the gesture.
“Recently @TLC #CakeBoss star @buddyvalastro underwent surgery following an accidental injury to his right hand, performed by Dr. Michelle Carlson, hand and upper extremity surgeon at HSS. As a thank you for the care provided, Buddy surprised Dr. Carlson, the nurses and the staff at HSS with a specialty cake he designed of the main hospital in New York City. “That was spectacular. To see this beautiful cake that someone has made for you – it really shows they appreciate what you’ve done, and that’s the best there is,” said Dr. Carlson in the hospital’s Instagram post.
His hand was injured in a freak accident at Buddy’s home bowling alley this fall and he’s been documenting his road to recovery ever since.
