Food has always been a big part of any celebration, regardless of whether it is the holidays or not. It doesn’t matter if it is sitting down to a full meal or enjoying appetizers with friends, it often makes or breaks an evening together. There are also certain foods that tend to go with specific celebrations, such as cake for birthdays or cookies for Christmas.

Now that Thanksgiving is coming up on the calendar, we have one of the biggest holidays known for food ahead of us. Many of us will be sitting down to a full meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and everything in between. We are probably also looking forward to a special dessert.

Some of the most popular desserts are pumpkin or pecan pie but there are many other desserts that are well worth considering. Some are part of family recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next, such as sweet potato pie.

If you have been itching to try something new this year, you might want to consider trying some of these popular pie recipes.

They come in the form of a video from Tasty. Four people from different parts of the United States are sharing Thanksgiving pie recipes. The video will show you, step-by-step how each pie is created:

Honestly, I’ve never thought about blueberry pie for Thanksgiving but it may just be the highlight of the meal. The sweet potato pie recipe is also something that is sure to be a hit.

Pumpkin pie has always been a classic at Thanksgiving but the recipe in this video has the spices being baked into the crust. I never thought of it that way.

Then there is the Thai tea pie. I’ve never even heard of this one before but it didn’t take long before I realized it was something I had to try. One thing is certain, Thanksgiving is going to be interesting this year.
