Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

As we’ve shared before, the Thanksgiving table might look a little different this year. While last year we couldn’t celebrate because we were all trying to social distance in order to keep our loved ones safe, this year the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t seem to want to let up its torment on our holidays.

While more people are getting vaccinated and it’s getting safer to gather in small numbers, there is another problem that has arisen out of the mess that is this global pandemic. And that would be food shortages. Because of this, it might be harder to find certain items, such as a turkey!

However, if you’re worried about having a turkey on the table the day of Thanksgiving, you might want to consider a much more fun option. Baskin-Robbins are bringing back their version of a Thanksgiving turkey…and it sounds delicious!

While it’s technically a dessert – a cake made out of ice cream – it is sculpted to look just like a little turkey. Now that is something that we can get behind.

The ice cream turkey cake is made using two sugar cones to imitate turkey legs, and then it is topped off with a caramel praline glaze. Sounds delicious.

Much like its real turkey counterpart, this turkey cake is placed on top of a bed of “greens” – which is just frosting. The faux turkey cake is made at the local Baskin-Robbins shops, meaning you can ask the one in your area to customize certain elements if you wish.

All ice cream turkey cakes start off at $51.99, however, if you order your cake between now through November 25th, you could get $5 off with a purchase of $35 or more on any cake.

Of course, if you want an ice cream turkey cake on your Thanksgiving table this year, you might want to place your order sooner rather than later. Luckily, you can place your order ahead of time either in person at any Baskin-Robbins store, or online.
