An Arby’s in Minnesota is receiving backlash online and at home for posting a sign that says only “well-behaved children” are welcome inside the restaurant.

Christine Hemsworth was visiting the Elk River Arby’s location with her three children and saw the sign on the door before walking inside, according to Kare 11.

“Only well-behaved Children who can keep their food on their trays and their bottoms on their seats are welcome. If you can’t do this you will be asked to leave. Thanks!”

Christine said it made her nervous because she had your youngest with her, “he doesn’t always keep his fries on the tray or his bottom on the seat. He sometimes stands up.”

She ended up eating at the restaurant but felt extremely uncomfortable the entire meal.

“It was kind of uncomfortable in the restaurant the time we were there,” she said. “I have a toddler. I wasn’t sure if it was because they didn’t want to clean up messes. I always clean up my children’s mess anyways but it was an uncomfortable and stressful meal.”

She told The Today Show Food that one of the employees cursed in front of her children. The employee’s actions and the sign prompted her to call the Arby’s hotline on the receipt.

Arby’s issued a statement to The Today Show: “We recognize the language on this sign was insensitive. We removed it quickly and have disciplined the manager and team working at the restaurant. It does not reflect our company values and the family-friendly environment we aim to provide in all of our restaurants,” a spokesperson told Today.
