Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

When most of us think about holiday music, we may think about songs such as “Jingle Bells” or “Deck the Halls”. With a little bit of creativity, however, almost any song can be turned into a holiday hit. That is especially true when you are a professional who installs holiday lights for a living.

Tom BetGeorge is well known for his holiday lights skills in his hometown of Tracy, California. He not only installs lights for others, but he also puts out quite a display of his own. In previous years, his home has been transformed into a Christmas oasis that mixes lights and music in an amazing way. Some of the music is Christmas related, but others, including the theme to Star Wars, take a walk on the wild side.

BetGeorge decided to do something a little different for the 2020 holiday season. He used the 80s hit by A-ha, “Take on Me”. It may be a little unconventional, but when it is timed as perfectly as he got it, the results are impressive.

Many people in the community come to view the show but some planning is necessary. In order to keep congestion in his neighborhood to a minimum, the display is only active for two hours at night on the weekends. He has a Facebook page to keep people up on the schedule. There is also a donation box on the property to raise money for a local homeless shelter.

If you are listening to the CDC and staying home, you don’t have to travel to Tracy to see the display. You can see it in this video:
