Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

These beauty secrets are time-tested and you need to be taking note! Beauty influencer Brittany Allyn is here to show you the way, as her initial post on TikTok has gotten over 350,000 views.

Her aunt has some very easy skin care tips that are sure to make your day. “Simple but it works?!,” the TikTok was captioned and we are in full agreement on this one.

Her aunt may be 70 years old but she certainly does not look her age at all. That’s why she is here to share some rules of thumb that should be very easy to understand.

“First, I never stretch my skin. Think of old leather shoes — how they stretch. Your skin will too, it’s like leather,” she says. This is the first tip that she had to offer. It’s certainly a good one that we are going to be adding to our repertoire expeditiously.

“Always dab it with a towel, don’t use make-up wipes to wipe off your make-up,” she continued. As someone who relies on these wipes, I was all ears and took notes during this section of the video. She’s offering a masterclass on how to keep your skin intact and she’s living proof that these rules are helpful.

She also suggests having a more minimal routine. “Number two, I only wash my face at night. I use my fingertips very gently and splash water on and then dab it with a towel,” the ageless beauty continued. As it turns out, “over-washing strips your natural oils from your skin, which are key to preventing wrinkles.” That makes a lot of sense, actually.

While these may be common sense tips, that does not make them any less valuable. The last tip is also easy to follow. She advises us to all use a retinol product. “I dab it on my eyes, I do my forehead, my cheeks, my neck, and my chest,” she says, as she taps her face. “I’ll do it a second time and, if I think I need it, a third time. On my mouth and eyes.”

Hopefully, we can look half as good by the time we reach her age.
