Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

If you drink as much coffee as we do, the idea of using up all the coffee filters in the house sounds like something straight out of a nightmare! But wait, just hear us out. Of course, you should always make sure you have enough filters to make that fresh pot of coffee in the morning, but that doesn’t mean those filters can’t do other things, too! In fact, since coffee filters are so cheap, why not pick up an extra pack next time you’re at the store? We promise you’ll find a lot of ways to use them around the house!

Deodorizer

Is the hall closet getting a little bit of a funk to it? How about your kids’ bedrooms? Maybe… your bedroom, too? No judgment here! A quick and easy way to neutralize odors is to add a bit of baking soda to a coffee filter and secure it with a rubber band. You can add drops of essential oils if you have some on hand, otherwise, just the baking soda will do. Drop the little bundles in shoes, coat pockets, dresser drawers, and anywhere that has a bit of a funk to it.

Lavendar Bath Soak

This is such a great idea for an easy DIY spa treatment! Add some Epsom salts and a few drops of essential oils to a coffee filter, tie it up, and plop it in the tub! You can even add fresh lavendar or other flowers if you have them on hand for an extra special treat.

Dryer Sheets

Out of dryer sheets? No problem! Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to a coffee filter and toss it right in the dryer.

Cleaning Rag

Because of the tough, absorbant nature of coffee filters, they make ideal cleaning rags! Use coffee filters on mirrors, sinks, tiles, and stainless steel to get a streak-free clean!
