Level Dry Ingredients Over Parchment Paper

Most of us who have been around the kitchen a time or two know that you should level your dry ingredients. This simply means you should fill the measuring cup to overflowing and then use a knife or a flat edge of some sort to scrape the excess off. This will give you a more exact measurement. This tip suggests leveling your dry ingredients over some parchment paper. This will not only protect your counter top from getting flour or sugar all over it, but it will also provide a way for you to save all of the leftovers and put them back into the container.

Grate Butter To Make It Room Temperature

This is our favorite tip on the list! A lot of recipes call for room temperature butter – but who has that? Most of us keep our butter in the fridge and if you’re anything like us, you’re too impatient to wait for it to warm up to room temperature (or you don’t remember to set it out a few hours before you start baking) so you end up melting it the microwave. No more! Take your cold butter to the cheese grater and go to town. With the butter now in smaller pieces, it’ll warm up almost instantly. Plus, with the smaller pieces, you’ll be able to easily incorporate it into the batter.
