Following the announcement by the Centers for Disease Control, there are now going to be updated mask rules for those who are fully vaccinated.
In following with these allowances, theme parks such as Disney World and Universal Studios will be adjusting their rules in order to allow fully vaccinated guests to go mask-less in certain areas of their parks.
In keeping with the local and state regulations as well as CDC guidelines, Disney World, Universal Orlando, Busch Gardens, and Sea World are amongst those theme parks that are lifting their mask mandates in the outdoor sections of their theme parks.
However, employees at Seaworld will still be required to wear masks while guests won’t be. Universal explained to Reuters that “face coverings will remain required at all indoor locations, including restaurants, shops, and indoor hotel public areas.”
As of April, Disney had already begun to ease their mask rules after they allowed guests to take photos without masks, so long as they were outdoors and away from other guests. Now, it will be that all guests who are fully vaccinated will be allowed to enter the park without a mask or the required temperature check prior to entrance.
All these policy changes are a result of the CDC’s announcement saying that fully vaccinated people may “resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”
A fully vaccinated individual is considered such following two weeks since their second vaccine dosage.
