It’s that time of year when whiskey is just such a nice, warming drink to sip while trying to stay warm.

Where I live, there’s a bar that’s doing build-your-own Christmas whiskey cocktails and I can’t wait to get into the holiday spirit with friends this month.

But, if you’re looking to make your own whiskey cocktails this winter, or you just want to brush up on your bartender skills in general, one video might be able to help you.

Karl Franz Williams, a culinary entrepreneur and professional bartender, created a video in which he shares 20 popular whiskey cocktail recipes that have endured over the ages.

Not only does he show you how to make the cocktails, but he also provides a little history and insight into the different types of whiskey used.

A few of his favorites that have made the list include classics such as an Old Fashioned and a Mint Julep, as well as different sours, Manhattan, and Sazerac, perhaps even some you might not have heard of like the Penicillin, Rob Roy, and Tipperary.

Each cocktail is its own creation and art form, and he stirs, shakes, strains, and garnishes each one differently. It’s so cool to watch!
