Making Mealtime Meaningful: Discover how we're giving back with the 12T Cares program →

When it comes to our pets, there’s not much we wouldn’t give them; we just want them to have the best and be the healthiest they can be. Because of this, we started making our own dog treats! There’s just something about knowing exactly what’s going into them that gives us peace of mind. Since we love cooking and baking, why not let our pets have some of the spoils as well? Here are a few of our favorite, tried-and-true recipes for dog food and treats. Go ahead, get cooking!

Peanut Butter Coconut Oil Dog Treats

While all the rage with people, it turns out coconut oil is great for your pets as well! Here, we use it because it improves overall skin and coat health (it moisturizes and reduces itchiness due to allergies or eczema), but it’s also been linked to preventing diabetes and heart disease – win-win! Pumpkin Dog Treats

Pumpkin is great for pets because it’s low-fat, but packed with fiber, beta-carotene, potassium, vitamin C and other nutrients. Whether your dog is old or young, pumpkin puree (note: NOT pumpkin pie filling which can be toxic to dogs) soothes the stomach and brings stability back to the digestive system!
